The Nigerian midfield heavyweight have added a goal to his Chelsea's
goal tally, with
Batshuayi, Remy and Pedro also on they score sheet as Antonio Conte's men
continued their pre-season. Obi Mikel was on target for Chelsea in
their 8-0 thumping of Atus Ferlach on Thursday. Mikel's deflected goal
doubled the Blues' lead after Loicy Remy had netted the opener after a
good build up from the
Nigerian and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
New signing Michy Batshuayi got a brace
after coming on as a half-time substitute. The Austrian minnows where
unable to hold on the game as Loic Remy got a hat-trick in the
friendly
played behind-closed-doors.
However, Victor Moses was not listed for the game as the Blues prepare
to face Liverpool, Real
Madrid and AC Milan in the International
Champions Cup.
The goal would serve as a morale booster
for Mikel who would be hoping to stake a
regular place in Conte's squad when the
new season begins.
Also, he is expected to lead Nigeria U23
team to the 2016 Rio Olympic Games which
kicks off next month as the Dream Team
VI face Sweden, Colombia and Japan in the
preliminary rounds.
