Celebrity Britney Spears took to Instagram on Monday, posting a picture of a rainbow heart. Spears wrote, “I have not been able to find words to express how I feel about what happened in Orlando. Music and dance take me to a wonderful, happy, safe place… and for this to happen in a place where people enjoy those things makes me so sad. This has to stop. We need to accept and love people for who they are. This is truly an attack against all of us, and I’m praying that we can join together and find a solution.”
Spears isn’t the only one speaking out in support of the LGBT community after the shooting. The cast of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia took part in Sunday’s L.A. Pride parade to show support. In London, the venue where Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is playing put up a rainbow flag. And Sunday evening’s Tony Awards featured several tributes to the Orlando victims, including a sonnet written by Hamilton’s Lin-Manuel Miranda.
